Sanchez Camp Confirms Next Steps
Mike Borao, manager for Sanchez, confirmed that discussions are already underway with promotional outfit Queensberry to stage Hrgovic vs Sanchez next.
"Per the IBF, no intervening bout, including unification bouts, are permitted prior to the satisfaction of Frank Sanchez's mandatory," Borao stated. "Queensberry is going to be our partner on Frank's next bout, presumably versus Hrgovic, and we will discuss that in the coming days with Frank and George Warren."
While Borao praised Itauma's opening eight-round performance and drew comparisons to Daniel Dubois rebounding from early-career adversity, the heavyweight pecking order leaves Itauma with no path to an immediate return against Hrgovic. The Croatian champion will instead turn his focus toward defending his position against the Cuban contender.
