Pangs Panaga and Bernadeth Pons drive Creamline
Creamline vs ZUS Coffee looked like a mismatch on paper, and for three of the four sets it played out that way. The Cool Smashers stayed perfect in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference Siklab Series with a 25-19, 16-25, 26-24, 25-17 win on Saturday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre. ZUS Coffee, still hunting a first win, dropped to 0-3.
Bernadeth Pons led the scoring with 16 points and added 14 receptions. Pangs Panaga chipped in 15 markers on a proper all-around line: seven attacks, four blocks and four aces. Four aces from one player is a problem the other side never really solves.
Blocks end rallies. Aces skip them entirely. Getting four of each from the same player in the same match is the sort of thing that lands in an opponent's scouting report by Monday.

The set scores read like a mood swing. Creamline took the opener 25-19, gave back the second 16-25, survived the third 26-24, then pulled clear 25-17. Two comfortable frames, one that got away, and one that nearly did.
That 16-25 second set is the one blemish on the night. Creamline lost the frame by nine points, and it's the only stretch where ZUS Coffee owned the scoreboard.
Creamline vs ZUS Coffee turns on a Set 3 escape
Here's the moment that decided it. Creamline trailed 24-23 in the third, one point away from going down two sets to one. Alyssa Valdez forced the deadlock, then Panaga denied Chinnie Arroyo on back-to-back plays to steal the frame at 26-24.
That's what people mean by championship poise, and it isn't abstract. Two stops at 24-23 separate a 2-1 lead from a 1-2 hole. ZUS Coffee had that set in its hands. Then it didn't.
Worth noting who made the plays. Valdez levelled it at 24-all, and Panaga finished the job with two straight denials. Creamline's big names showed up exactly when the set demanded it.
The fourth was tamer. Panaga returned an overpass to bring up match point at 24-16, and Tots Carlos swung from the left side to finish it off at 25-17.
Zam Nolasco gives ZUS Coffee something to build on
The loss spoiled a genuine bright spot. Rookie middle blocker Zam Nolasco put up 16 points for the Thunderbelles, matching Pons' output for the match. On a night her team fell to 0-3, that's a line a coaching staff can work with.
Sixteen points from a rookie middle is a workload worth flagging. It's also the clearest sign that ZUS Coffee has a piece to build around while the results catch up.
ZUS Coffee's issue wasn't one player. It was the finish of Set 3, then a fourth set where Creamline got separation and never let the door crack open again.
What 3-0 means for the Cool Smashers
Three games, three wins, and the Siklab Series field is already looking up at Creamline. No five-setter needed yet, which matters once the schedule gets heavier.
The bigger takeaway is balance. Pons carries the scoring load, Panaga gives them blocks and aces from a second option, and Valdez and Carlos are around for the tight points. That's a lot of answers to prepare for.
Panaga's night is the headline for me, though. Fifteen points, four blocks, four aces, plus the two biggest defensive plays of the match. Pons will get the scoring credit, and she earned it, but Panaga swung the result.
For ZUS Coffee, the search continues. Winless after three, the Thunderbelles have now shown they can take a set off a contender. Closing one out is the next step.
What to track from here is simple enough. Creamline gets to find out whether 3-0 is a hot streak or the actual shape of this team. ZUS Coffee gets to find out whether it can hold a lead when it finally gets one.
