Savi Davison triple-double lifts PLDT past Capital1

PLDT beat Capital1 in four sets, 21-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-21, at the FilOil EcoOil Centre for its first win of the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference. Savi Davison posted a triple-double of 28 points, 10 digs and 18 receptions, while Bella Belen's own triple-double of 23 points, 10 digs and 19 receptions went to waste for the Solar Spikers.

PLDT is finally on the board. The High Speed Hitters turned back Capital1, 21-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-21, in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Saturday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre, and the Savi Davison triple-double is the reason it happened.

Davison erupted for 28 points built on 23 attacks, four blocks and one ace, then added 10 digs and 18 receptions. She scored, she defended, she passed — and PLDT needed every bit of it.

The High Speed Hitters dropped the opening set 21-25, then took the next three by identical 25-21 scorelines to end a two-game slide and improve to 1-2.

Savi Davison triple-double powers PLDT

The 23 attacks were the engine, but the four blocks matter just as much for a PLDT side that needed stops late. The single ace rounded out the scoring line, and the 18 receptions kept her involved on the defensive end too.

Kim Kianna Dy provided the help with 11 points, while Alleiah Malaluan and Keisha Bedonia chipped in nine and eight markers each. That kind of spread is exactly what PLDT will need going forward — Davison cannot carry 28 every night.

It was a welcome correction for a team that opened the conference with losses to Nxled and Akari. The first win of the season came with a fight, which probably suits this group fine.

How PLDT closed out Set 4

Up 20-16, PLDT blinked first. Back-to-back errors let Capital1 claw within two and turned a comfortable close into a nervy one.

The response was immediate. Three straight points, started by a backrow kill from Davison, pushed the cushion back to 23-18.

Capital1 was not done. Bella Belen and Erika Santos fueled a 3-0 run that pulled the Solar Spikers to within two again at 23-21, and suddenly the fourth set was live.

Then Dy took over. She soared from the opposite and unloaded a cross-court kill, before teaming up with Dell Palomata to reject Belen's attack from the left wing. That is how you slam a door.

Bella Belen's triple-double falls short

Belen answered with a triple-double of her own: 23 points, 10 digs and 19 receptions. Vanie Gandler added 16 markers and Santos chipped in 15 for the Solar Spikers.

Capital1 came in riding a two-game winning streak over Akari and ZUS Coffee, so this one will sting. The Solar Spikers had their chances in the fourth and simply ran into a Dy block at the worst possible moment.

What the first win means for PLDT

PLDT avoids an 0-3 hole and stops the bleeding after those losses to Nxled and Akari. Getting off the mark matters in a short conference, and doing it without a clean performance is arguably more encouraging than a blowout.

The bigger question is whether the supporting cast keeps producing. Dy's 11 points and the combined 17 from Malaluan and Bedonia took real pressure off Davison, and repeating that is the difference between a one-win breakthrough and an actual run.
