Solar Spikers seek continued success in PVL Pulse Series
The Capital1 Solar Spikers look to build on their recent momentum as they prepare to face the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles this Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena. Following a hard-fought five-set victory against the Akari Chargers last Thursday, Capital1 currently holds a 1-1 record in the PVL All-Filipino Conference Pulse Series. This upcoming 1 p.m. fixture serves as a critical opportunity for the team to climb the standings and solidify their position in the playoff race.
Belen driving offensive and defensive production
Bella Belen enters the match following a career-best 35-point performance, a statistical milestone that has placed her at the forefront of the league's MVP conversation. Her impact extends beyond scoring; in her last outing, she recorded 20 digs and 19 excellent receptions, demonstrating a high level of efficiency in both floor defense and transition play. As the 2026 Rookie of the Year, Belen’s ability to anchor the team’s rotation remains the primary factor in Capital1’s tactical approach.
Context of the playoff race
For Capital1, the objective is to maintain consistency after missing the playoffs in the previous conference. The team faces a ZUS Coffee side noted for its height and physical presence at the net, requiring a disciplined performance from the Solar Spikers to secure back-to-back wins. The outcome of this match will significantly influence the mid-table rankings as the Pulse Series progresses. Additional action on Tuesday includes a 6 p.m. encounter between PLDT and Akari.
