Tiongson Ahanmisi triple-double anchors Terrafirma's fast start
Tiongson Ahanmisi triple-double powered Terrafirma to a 149-117 rout of Titan Ultra on Saturday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo. The Dyip closed their PBA Season 50 Governors’ Cup campaign on a high note and led wire-to-wire.
Juami Tiongson scored 18 of his 30 points in the opening quarter. Maverick Ahanmisi finished with 18 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds for his first career PBA triple-double.
Ahanmisi’s passing kept Terrafirma’s offense moving throughout the contest. Tiongson’s early burst gave the Dyip control before Titan Ultra could respond, and the win gave Terrafirma a strong finish to a challenging season.

Terrafirma's 47-point first quarter sets franchise record
Terrafirma poured in 47 points in the first quarter to take a 47-26 lead. That output marked a new franchise record for most points in a single quarter, surpassing the 42 points the Dyip scored against Macau a week earlier at the same venue.
The Dyip made their intentions clear from the opening tip. They continued to pile on points and stretched the lead to as many as 32 against a Titan Ultra squad also looking to end its campaign on a positive note.
Quarter scores were 47-26, 76-65, 109-94 and 149-117. Titan Ultra trimmed the gap to 11 by halftime before Terrafirma pulled away again. Terrafirma's offense stayed productive through the final quarter, finishing with 149 points.
Ronald Tubid sees missed chances in Terrafirma's 5-7 conference
Terrafirma finished the Governors’ Cup with a 5-7 record and the season with a 10-25 mark. Coach Ronald Tubid said the team wanted to end the conference on a high note and have something to carry into the next conference.
“Before the game we told the boys we need to end this conference on a high note. At least we have something to come back to next conference,” Tubid said.
Tubid also lamented the close losses that kept the Dyip from advancing beyond the elimination round. He said many of their defeats were not blowouts and wondered what would have happened if the team had played its A-game at the right time.
“Ever since, our games have not been that lopsided… all of them were battles. That is what we will look back on, the what if we played our A-game at that time? We were supposed to be in. But nothing, we can’t control that, it’s over,” he said.
Tubid said Terrafirma intends to begin preparations earlier for the next conference to build on the team’s progress and establish better chemistry. “We’re getting there, the team is slowly improving,” he said.
Titan Ultra ends maiden PBA season with fourth straight blowout loss
Titan Ultra wrapped its first PBA season with an 8-28 overall record after its fourth consecutive blowout defeat. The Giant Risers also played without Joshua Munzon for the second straight game.
Von Pessumal led Titan Ultra with 26 points, while Tirrell Brown II capped his first PBA stint with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Their efforts were not enough to contain Terrafirma’s high-powered offense.
Terrafirma also got 12 points each from Strings and Eriobu, while Miller and Garcia added nine apiece. Titan Ultra’s Yu, Dionisio and Caralipio each scored 11.
Terrafirma’s scoring distribution: Tiongson 30, Ahanmisi 18, Strings 12, Eriobu 12, Miller 9, Garcia 9, Paraiso 8, Mariano 8, Chiu 8, Bravo 5, Catapusan 5, Zaldivar 5, Umali 4, Adamos 3, Hanapi 2.
