Nxled sweep of Capital1 keeps perfect PVL start rolling

Nxled stayed perfect in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference Siklab Series with a 25-13, 25-20, 25-18 win over Capital1 at the PhilSports Arena. Brooke Van Sickle scored 13 points and MJ Phillips added nine as the Chameleons moved to 5-0, while Capital1 fell to 2-4 with a third straight loss.

The Nxled sweep of Capital1 was about as clean as it gets: 25-13, 25-20, 25-18 at the PhilSports Arena on Saturday. That leaves the Chameleons 5-0 and alone at the top of the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference Siklab Series.

They led all the way through. Nxled came out firing in the opener, put up six blocks in that set alone and took it by 13 points. Capital1 kept things close early in Sets 2 and 3, but the Chameleons found another gear down the stretch both times.

Nxled sweep Capital1 to stay unbeaten

Brooke Van Sickle led the way with 13 points. Jonah Sabete-Escamilla did a bit of everything with seven markers, five digs and 10 receptions, while MJ Phillips imposed herself in the middle with nine points.

Jackie Acuña chipped in seven points in just two sets, which says plenty about how comfortably Nxled could rotate. The unbeaten run now includes wins over PLDT, Farm Fresh, Galeries Tower and Choco Mucho.

Van Sickle's 13 points topped the scoring column, but the spread is what stands out. Sabete-Escamilla's all-around line and Phillips's work at the middle kept Capital1 from loading up on any one attacker.

Analysis: that balance is why the 5-0 start doesn't look like a fluke. When four players can hurt you and the block shows up early, opponents run out of answers fast.

Ettore Guidetti is already on to the next one

Italian head coach Ettore Guidetti wasn't in the mood to admire the record. Asked about the win, he wanted the conversation moved along quickly and pointed to how tough the schedule gets from here.

"It (the game) is already done so we think about the next one. When you're running, you're looking to go with your rhythm," Guidetti said.
"I really hope that the next game won't stop us. It's really difficult to plan because every single opponent is high-level, especially Akari."

Capital1 slide to a third straight loss

For the Solar Spikers, it's now three defeats in a row and a 2-4 card. Nxled held their usual scorers unusually quiet: Bella Belen finished with five points, Vanie Gandler had seven and Erika Santos posted a team-high 12.
