Nxled Holds Early Advantage After Gritty Five-Set Battle
Nxled holds early advantage in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference Siklab series after edging Farm Fresh in a grueling five-set clash on Saturday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre. The Chameleons repelled a spirited comeback from the Foxies to secure a 25-19, 25-17, 23-25, 20-25, 15-12 victory.
The result moves Nxled to a clean 2-0 record in the preliminary round standings. That mark pulls the Chameleons level with Choco Mucho atop the league table, continuing their positive momentum following an opening sweep over PLDT.
Farm Fresh Mounts Mid-Match Fightback Before Fifth-Set Decider
Nxled appeared completely in control during the initial two frames. The Chameleons dictated pace through efficient execution at the pins and transition offense, taking consecutive sets by comfortable six-point and eight-point margins.
Farm Fresh altered the tactical balance across the third and fourth frames. The Foxies minimized their unforced miscues, applied pressure on Nxled's primary passers, and took two straight sets by tight margins to push the contest into a fifth frame. Farm Fresh fell short in the closing exchanges of the decider, dropping to a 1-1 record in the conference table.
Standings Context and Preliminary Round Implications
For Nxled, navigating a fifth-set decider represents an important test in game management. Historical performance metrics in the PVL consistently demonstrate that closing out tight tiebreaks often determines quarterfinal seeding in condensed tournament schedules.
By securing the victory, Nxled protects its unbeaten start and maintains pace with Choco Mucho at the top of the conference table. Farm Fresh remains firmly in qualification contention at 1-1 after showing resilience against a favored opponent.
